  3. Hey dude, the fault zone off the coast has had earth quakes. It's not a "Sleeping Giant" in the same sense that you mentioned. It hasn't had a big quake in 300+ years, but there are earthquakes on the juan de fuca all the time. Around 1-3 per month.

  4. As the son of a geologist and Portland resident for over a decade, we were very careful in where exactly we bought a (new) house and provisioned it with supplies, protection, etc…

  5. There wont be an earthquake here. Turns out if you can cause the earthquakes everywhere else to be more severe, it relieves the pressure where you live and you get no earthquakes. Ill bet the elites of other countries have figured this out by now and that might be why china
as well as other countries have had panama build them their own earthquake inducing soundwave ship.

  6. We should wait til this happens before we spend a thing on infrastructure. Why fix it twice. It would be a boom for the economy. As well as less people to worry about. So bring it on. Makes for great T.V.

  7. the pacific northwest doesn't suffer from tornadoes, droughts, hurricanes, floods, but it does suffer from earthquakes and other seismic activity.

  8. The tsunami wave would be less damaging once it would hit Seattle because the wave would bounce of the many islands in the Puget sound.
